50 Drinking-Water Tank Project  ( 50^th Anniversary Project )

More than 10 districts in the province of Chiangmai are located on the high-lands with bad access of under developed roads to the villages.  The local folks in this remote area are very poor, earning their income from agriculture and simple farming. They suffer seriously from clean drinking water.  The collected rain water is preserved for drinking and general usage during the raining season for the whole community which has never been enough for the whole year around.   The water supplies to the school and to each family is from the  natural mountain water which needs distance pipe line system.   In the summer, local folks are unable to have enough clean drinking rain water at all.   Because they do not receive any water services from the local government,  therefore, clean drinking water’s essential to their living.

 In celebrating the 50^th Anniversary of  the  Rotary club of Chiangmai. We intend to provide 50 clean drinking water with filtering systems to 50 rural schools in 3 rural districts of Chiang Mai which would support some 15,000-20,000 students and villagers to have the regular supply of clean drinking water for the whole year around. 

This project will provide a 10 sq meter water tank with filtering system and a gutter to collect the rain water, reserving during the raining season for use in the dry summer season.  Each member of the Rotary club of Chiangmai ‘ll make a personal contribution towards a school each.  This well worth project will enable the school children and villagers to live a healthier and hygienic life, less infected from diseases such as Cholera and other non-specific diarrhea, an opportunity to improve their quality of life.

ยังมีผู้ด้อยโอกาสและยากจนจำนวนมาก อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่ห่างไกลความเจริญและสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกขั้นพื้นฐาน  ทำให้มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ต่ำกว่ามาตราฐานมาก แม้กระทั่งในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่เราเอง มีมากกว่า 10 อำเภอ ที่ตั้งอยู่ในหุบเขาและที่สูง  มีเส้นทางเดินทางที่ยากลำบาก และเป็นไปไม่ได้เลยในฤดูฝน    น้ำดื่มสะอาดก็จะมีพอเพียงเฉพาะในฤดูฝนเท่านั้น แต่จะขาดแคลนเมื่อเข้าสู่ฤดูร้อน น้ำหายากมากขึ้นและไม่สะอาด เป็นเหตุทำให้เกิดโรตภัยไข้เจ็บอยู่ตลอดเวลา

ในโอกาสครบรอบ 50 ปีของสโมสรโรตารีเชียงใหม่  การบริจาคถังเก็บน้ำฝนขนาด 10 ลูกบาศเมตรพร้อมระบบกรองน้ำ จะช่วยแก้ไข บรรเทาความเดือดร้อนเหล่านั้นได้อย่างดี โดยจะติดตั้งไว้ที่โรงเรียนในชุมชนที่ขาดแคลนใน 3 อำเภอ อ.จอมทอง, อ.แม่วาง, อ.สะเมิง  เชิญชวนสมาชิกโรตาเรียนทุกท่าน โดยเฉพาะสมาชิกสโมสรโรตารีเชียงใหม่ช่วยกันบริจาคคนละ US$ 50 หรือประมาณ 1800 บาท เพื่อร่วมโครงการครั้งนี้
